Lakbayani

Metro Manila is an unfamiliar place for the national minorities of the Philippines, but their battle to be heard about the struggles they experience on their ancestral lands forced them to leave their land of heritage to fight for their right to self- determination. They are given a place like home as they camp out on the grounds of the city.

Lakbayani is the term used to call the participants of the annual caravan for the national minorities of the Philippines.

The urban dwellers and the indigenous people - different in cultures yet identical in blood found understanding in one another’s experiences to create a just society that serves the interest of the Filipino people.
